The Hygiene Passport is a statutory and mandatory certificate for people who work with unpackaged, perishable foods, for example in restaurants, cafés, shops, institutional kitchens and the food industry.

Preparatory Online Learning Materials

The learning platform allows you to prepare for the test flexibly at your own pace. The materials cover all the areas required for the test:

• Basics of hygiene and microbiology
• Storage temperatures and food poisoning
• Other food-related risks and cleaning
• Own-check practices and food legislation

The materials include clear learning texts, illustrative instructional videos, practice exercises and multiple-choice practice tests to help you prepare for the test.

How to Obtain Your Hygiene Passport:

1. Register and receive access to the online learning platform
2. Study and practise online whenever it suits you
3. Take the test and receive your official Hygiene Passport after passing

The Hygiene Passport test is held at Sorvaajankatu 15, Helsinki.
Please arrive approximately 15 minutes before the test begins. The test session lasts approximately 45 minutes.
You must bring a valid official identity document with you.
