Traficom-approved Special Groups Driver Training for Taxi Services. The training is mandatory for all drivers providing Kela-reimbursed transport services, Sote transport services and school transport services.
If your taxi driver’s licence was issued after 1 July 2018, you must complete both the theory and practical components. If your taxi driver’s licence was issued before 1 July 2018, you only need to complete the practical component.
The theory component (14 h) is delivered ONLINE and can be attended using a computer or mobile phone. The practical component is held as an IN-PERSON TRAINING DAY, primarily at Akkad’s premises in Helsinki (Sorvaajankatu 15, Helsinki).

Description
Special Groups Driver Training for Taxi Services includes a theory component and a practical training day.
If your taxi driver’s licence was issued before 1 July 2018, you may complete only the practical training day.
If your taxi driver’s licence was issued after 1 July 2018, you must complete both the theory component and the practical training day.
Theory component: The 14-hour theory component is conveniently completed online over two days and can be attended from anywhere in Finland.
Practical training day: Held as an in-person training day, primarily at Akkad’s premises in Helsinki. We practise assisting customers, securing wheelchairs, and using safety equipment correctly.
Language: The language of instruction is Finnish. Support is also available in English and Easy Finnish.
