How the Taxi Driver Refresher Training Is Delivered

Price: 178 € + VAT

In addition, we charge Traficom’s registration fee of €21 (VAT 0%).

Duration: 7 training hours

Format: The Refresher Training can be completed as a one-day online course. The online training is delivered as a live virtual session and lasts 7 hours.

Language: The language of instruction is Finnish. Support is also available in English and Easy Finnish.

Payment methods: You can pay for the training directly through our online store using online banking, debit or credit card, MobilePay, Google Pay, Apple Pay or Klarna. Business customers can also pay by invoice.

The one-day online training is easy to attend from anywhere in Finland.

Complete the Training

You will review the updated regulations and key topics in the taxi industry under the guidance of our instructor or using our ready-made training materials.

Complete the Taxi Driver’s Licence Renewal Application

After the training, we will report your completion to Traficom, after which you can submit your taxi driver’s licence renewal application through Ajovarma.

Complete the Taxi Driver Refresher Training Flexibly Online

In the online training, you choose the training day that suits you best. You complete the course on your chosen day in a live online session (Teams), and the training day lasts 7 hours.

Taxi Driver’s Licence Renewal — Read More About Taxi Driver Refresher Training

Yes. We regularly offer 7-hour refresher training sessions in the evenings and on weekends, so the training does not interfere with your current work.

No. Successful participation and attendance in the Taxi Driver Refresher Training are sufficient to complete the course. There is no separate exam after the training. Once you have completed the training, we will report your completion to Traficom, after which you can submit your taxi driver’s licence renewal application to Ajovarma.

Live online training is held via video call (Teams) on the training day you choose. You will receive the training link by email before the course begins.

Self-paced online training gives you login credentials to a training platform where you complete various training exercises. You can complete the exercises according to your own schedule.

For both live online training and self-paced online training, you need a computer or smartphone and an internet connection.

You can choose either training format depending on which suits you best. All of our training courses are approved by Traficom.

Taxi Driver Refresher Training is provided in Finnish, but the instructor can also speak English when needed.

Taxi Driver Refresher Training will become mandatory from 1 November 2026 when renewing a taxi driver’s licence. You can find more information about this in the new taxi transport legislation

Yes. Once you have completed the training, we will report your completion to Traficom. After that, you must submit your taxi driver’s licence renewal application through Ajovarma


If you are under 45 years old, complete the Taxi Driver Refresher Training and, after the training, book an appointment directly at an Ajovarma service point.

If you are over 45 years old, first undergo a medical examination and request a medical certificate for renewing your taxi driver’s licence. Then complete the Taxi Driver Refresher Training and book an appointment at an Ajovarma service point.

If you do not have a valid passport, identity card, or a driving licence/taxi driver’s licence issued after 2013, you must also attach a passport photo to your renewal application.

A taxi driver’s licence is valid for five years at a time. For drivers aged 68 or over, the licence is valid for two years at a time.

Yes, a taxi driver’s licence can be renewed even if it has already expired.
